Kobe Bryant and Call of Duty

Recently, Kobe Bryant participated in an advertisement for Activision's "Call of Duty: Black Ops." In the advertisement Kobe is seen brandishing a firearm with the word "MAMBA" on it (that's Kobe's nickname). Many people are saying the Kobe is inadvertently promoting gun violence in America. Do video games promote violence? Should young people be allowed to play these games that are becoming incredibly realistic? Does rampaging through a jungle, blasting enemy combatants as you go, encourage people, young or not, to not value life? Should we ban violent video games? Violent movies? Violent music?
